Welcome – I’m glad you’re here! As a trauma specialist, I understand that the process of starting therapy can be daunting and people often don’t know where to start. My aim foreveryone I see is to help you reach your goals so that you can be free to live a life filled with love, passion, and joy. As a proponent of evidence-based treatment, I believe in using treatment methods that have been proven effective with research and experience. I have been trained in EMDR, cognitive processing therapy, stage-oriented integrated treatment, prolonged exposure, skills training in affect and interpersonal effectiveness, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, and cognitive behavior therapy.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy where my role is not to simply tell you what to do, but to work with you as a facilitator to help guide you toward your goals. I feel that it is an honor and a privilege to provide a safe space for trauma survivors to share their stories without judgment, shame, or blame.
I completed my PsyD at Adler University in Chicago. I chose Adler for my graduate journey because of the priority placed on social justice and health equity, both of which I strongly value. I completed the traumatic stress emphasis, which provided specialized training in evidence-based treatment of PTSD, complex trauma, and traumatic grief. I furthered this training at my internship at the Hampton VA, where I worked primarily
within the PTSD clinical team. My residency was completed at the San Diego VA, where I specialized in LGBTQIA+ Veteran care. As a queer-identified therapist, providing affirming care to the Community is a strong passion of mine. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, my spouse, and my stepdaughter, as well as spoiling my four cats, hiking, meditating, gardening, doing yoga, and reading.
If it seems like I would be a good fit for your therapy journey, please feel free to reach out!
